RASPBERRIES

Avrum has always been able to make cute little silent raspberry bubbles but now he can make raspberry lips, big bubbles everywhere and spit as he does it! He is loving this new talent.

ON ALL FOURS!

Avrum got up on all fours tonight at Mandy Aunties house! It was very exciting. He even stayed up for a good 30+ seconds. He continued to practice for like 5-8 minutes. He even tried to sway forward and back when he was up! Very very exciting stuff! He is one step closer to crawling and Mama never being able to look away for a fraction of a second again!

Avrum's Five Month Check-up

Avrum is five months old already. I cannot believe time is going by so fast. it seems that there is really only 30 seconds in a minute these days.

At 25.75 inches and 15 lbs on the dot he is doing well. He needs to eat more. We started him on Homemade Organic Baby Food. His first was Broccoli! He loved it. He likes Mamas Carrots but, is not a fan of Sweet Peas just yet. Mama is cooking away and freezing what I can so Dada and Andrew can help with ease. We were only feeding him once a day before bath time at night but Dr. Reda says to increase that to 2 to three times a day because he is SOOOOO.... Active!! We introduced the trainer sippy cup from Born Free (no toxins) and he likes to play with it but has not quite got the hang of it but, he loves to put it in his mouth. Today mommy has to go buy a Highchair because the Bumbo just is not working anymore. He is too strong.

Today he rolled over from his back to this tummy for the first time!! Yea Avee! We are so proud!

Avrum is a Big Boy

Baby Avrum slept the whole night in his room for the first time last night! He slept from 11:00PM till 6:30AM, when he woke up up enough to not open his eyes and to eat. Then he slept till 8:30AM!! So exciting. Mind you Dada and Mama did not get much or quality sleep at all! Neither of us were able to get into a deep sleep. So tonight is a second run! I am sure it is going to go better for Mama and Dada. Baby might wake up earlier because he fell asleep at 9:30PM, which is early for him. We still have the Bassinet in our room just in case.
Another first for Mama was sitting with Baby in the mirror and having him crack up laughing for a good 3 to 5 minutes! Baby Laughter is the sound of heaven! It is so joyous!

NO SLEEP!

Mama is not getting any sleep tonight. Tonight is the first night Avee is sleeping in his own room and I am wide eyed (So is Dada! he is down stairs watching TV yelling at me every time he thinks he hears Avee.) Baby went to sleep at 11:00PM and it is almost 1:00AM and we just can't get into bed. I don't know if I am going to be able to let him stay in there... We'll see.

July 4th

We had a great trip to Colorado. Avrum is a great little traveler. He had a really big week. Lets see there is a laundry list of Firsts!
  • He was in Six different states. California, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Utah and Nevada.
  • First boat ride
  • First horseback ride (two horsey steps while mommy held him for a picture on Goldie who has now rode with four generations of our family.)
  • He also found his feet, which are apparently hilarious! He can now get his right big toe into his mouth.
  • He rolls from his back to his side.
  • His first two arm reach for Mommy
  • He holds his bottle and pulls it into his mouth. Adiri Bottles are amazing!! I pumped while Alex was driving and then fed him with a bottle so we wouldn't have to pull over every time he wanted a snack.
  • He bends at the waist to pick up toys
  • He pulled a toy out of the diaper bag
  • He practices putting his Binki in and out of his mouth
  • He reaches for a cup and pulls it to his mouth as if he is drinking (with help, but we don't let his drink)
  • He met his Great Grandparents
  • He met his Great Great Great Aunt Grace (we took a five generations picture!)

He has been a busy little boy!

Four Month Check-up

Avrum had his four month check up and shots today. He is so sleepy. I hate having the vaccinations. He is 13 lbs and 25 inches. Currently he is a little advanced in his physical and intellectual development. Socially he is right on target. But this stuff changes daily at this stage!

So Much Going On

I don't even know where to begin, so much is happening:

Avrum is getting bigger by the second. I weighed him two days ago and he was 14lbs! He has literally doubled in size since birth. He is so into everything he can get his little hands on. Watch out Doggies, Avrum pulls ears, tails and fur. He absolutely loves to play with plastic bowls. He is getting attached to his blankie (a burp cloth). He pulls them over his face and thinks it is sooo funny. He is getting very close to sitting up on his own for more than a few seconds. Avrum loves when mommy sings the ABC's and the ABC Sounds. We also like to play A is for Alligator, B is for Bumblebee, C is for Cougar... I pick a subject and run with it. One day we did politics, that was challenging even for me. I had to mix it with government. I think he is going to be an early teether. He is drooling like crazy and chewing on everything. He is hungry all the time. We are probably going to have to start him on Cereal soon. He is still chewing/sucking his thumb but not as much as when I was at BSB. I have been nursing more often and longer each session and it seems to be helping.

Andrew is such a young man. He graduated from 6th Grade June 20th. His school had a whole Graduation Ceremony and everything. He received three major awards this year. First Place in his class for his Science Project and was featured at the District Office, Academic Achievement in his class (one boy and one girl were selected) and The Silver Award from the President of the United States! He also went on his first real group date. Georgeanne wanted to take him to Dave and Busters to celebrate and bring some friends. So he invited his BF Jake, his girlfriend Bailey K. and her BF Bailey R. So Alex drove and picked everyone (kids), they had their own table and Andrew got the girls cards for the video games and lunch. It was really cute.

As for me and Alex. Our 3 year anniversary is in two week. My mom is going to watch Avrum so we can go to dinner. I have been feeling a little low lately. But I am going to start jogging again, I am going to cut out the Starbucks because it is making me breakout like crazy. My hair is falling out in clumps. My friend told me this would happen and I didn't believe her. But it will grow back. Ha ha ha. It is all worth it. Alex finally agreed to having two more Babies!! So when Avrum is about 18 months-24 months we will start trying again and then when that baby is four or five we will try a third time. I will have my four Babies! Andrew, Avrum, #3 and #4. I hope we have another boy and then a girl. Alex has been surfing like crazily lately. It is good for him to get out and have that time to himself. I know he is feeling the strain from me not working.

We are going to Colorado for the 4th of July. Avrum is going to meet his Great-Grandparents!

NO MORE BSB!!!

I am home with my Babies! Alex did an amazing job with the Baby for two weeks while I went back to work and waited to get laid off. My last day was last Thursday. Inevitable because the California offices are obviously not going to be able to stay open for much longer! BSB is a sinking ship! There are a lot of other local firms that are very busy although everyone is feeling the downturn in the industry.

However I am going to take this time to take some exams, get my portfolio updated, look for the RIGHT firm to work with, be home for Andrew as he is going into Junior High (AHH!) and stay home with my little Peanut Avrum!

In the two weeks I was going to work Avrum started sucking his thumb and stopped sleeping through the night. Just being home for two days with him and he started sleeping through the night again and we are still working on the thumb issue.
